The second issue of FrontRow Magazine is out for distribution
Editor Carlotta Pellizzari introduces the Fall Winter 2016 edition with a quick summary.
- First, she mentions the collaboration between three luxury designers including Gianfranco Ferré Furs and NAFA that was exhibited at MiFur in Milan.
- She goes on to discuss the cover story about Fendi – the profile behind the brand, an interview with Pietro Beccari, Fendi CEO discussing the immensely successful show at the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
- NAFA’s Vision 2020 is introduced as an «ambitious four-year plan of fur certification and traceability, which has been introduced as part of the company’s Corporate and Social Responsibility Initiative».
- She closes the Editor’s Letter with an overview of trends for F/W 2016/17 including the themes the designers used for MiFur’s annual Fashion gala.
Fendi is housed in the Palazzo della Civilità Italiana with CEO Pietro Becarri (pictured above) on the third floor and Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Venturini Fendi and Marco De Vincenzo occupying the sixth floor along with an additional sixty designers. The rest of the building is used for patternmakers, seamstresses, and complete supply chain for the luxury brand.

What meaning does a Haute Fourrure fashion show have? What is different this year?
The first Haute Fourrure Collection marked a significant step in the development of the search for new effects and innovative solutions in today’s furs. The result was achieved thanks to Lagerfeld’s collaboration with French Haute Couture ateliers. The combination of Made in Italy craftsmanship and daring creativity in furs will be evident in the second Haute Fourrure fashion show, scheduled for presentation on July 7 (past) in Rome, underlining the special relationship between Fendi and its place of origin.
NAFA Vision 2020
NAFA is aware of the current desire for sustainable products. Products that are created and worn with pride. There is nothing like being accused of wearing something that is called cruel. This is what drives the company toward ensuring that their furs are certified and cruelty free. Vision 2020 is a four year plan that «encompasses the management, sustainability, certification and traceability of all furs that NAFA offers.
The company is coordinating the certification system based on guidelines from the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada, and the articles of Best Management Practices (BMP’s) in the United States.
In the fur trade, we know that furs from NAFA are harvested in the best practices as it ensures better quality fur. These new certification programs will enforce animal welfare in the supply chain through legal standards – helping fur lovers to know their garment is cruelty free.
The One Milano
This year’s MiFur event was a smashing success as outlined in the magazine copy. Stunning photos of catwalk models wearing the chicest furs grace the pages.

This year the show is called Uno Milano and will run for several days during Milan Fashion Week. Remix competition from the International Fur Federation will run alongside of Uno Milano as a joint event.
